ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has approved 24 teams for the 4th National Women’s Football Club Championship 2011 to be held from April 6-13 at four zones viz Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
Faisal told APP that the top two teams of each zone will qualify for the 7th National Women’s Championship which will take place at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium from September 17-30.
PFF Women Committee Chairperson, Robina Irfan, hailed the efforts of the PFF president for the promotion of football in the country and for taking steps for promoting women’s football.
“Considering the reality that football is being played less in girls’ schools and women colleges, the appearance of 24 teams in the fourth edition of the National Women’s Club Championship is a great achievement for PFF, which is due to Makhdoom Faisal Hayat’s efforts and his devotion to football,” said Irfan who added that clubs play an important role in football and PFF will provide technical support and guidance on a regular basis to the management of the clubs.

Lahore:
