KARACHI: The postponed inaugural Pakistan-Iran Snooker series will be held in Tehran from March 30 to April 6, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced on Tuesday.
The series was earlier called off because of the non-issuance of visas to a 5-member Pakistan squad.
The PBSA is pleased to announce that the Pakistan team has been issued necessary visas. The association expressed their gratitude to the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Abdullah Hai for his kind assistance in granting the visas.PBSA now awaits the release of the Special Grant required for participation from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
Pakistan’s snooker team is due to fly to Tehran on March 30 by Iran Airways flight to play the series.
The Pakistan squad includes Shahid Aftab, Imran Shahzad and Muhammad Sajjad. Shahzad Riaz Choudhary (manager) will be official of the team.The series will be played at the Azadi Sports Complex, Tehran. Six matches comprising of three singles and reverse singles each in best of seven frames will be played.
One point will be awarded for the each frame win, one bonus point for a break of 50 and two bonus points for a break for 100 or over. The team mustering the highest number of points on the final day will be awarded the trophy.
